To save weight (and fuel) he cut away these portions and took with him in the cockpit only the section of the map dealing with the northern Atlantic. -- LINDBERGH. A Rand McNally Standard Map of Wisconsin, signed ("Lindbergh"), in lower right corner, WITH FLIGHT PATHS PLOTTED IN BOLD PENCIL BY LINDBERGH. Illustrated in yellow, 20¾ x 20¼ in., extensively folded, slight chip along bottom edge. A bold, straight line moves from Chicago to Minneapolis, with 10-mile intervals ticked off, and every fifty miles noted by Lindbergh (350-miles for the entire flight). There is also a second line, diverging from Chicago to Madison, Wisconsin, then tilting down back to the primary flight path to the Twin Cities. -- LINDBERGH.
