LORRAIN, Claude (1600-1682). Liber veritatis; or A Collection of Two Hundred Prints, after the original designs of Claude Le Lorrain, in the Collection of His Grace the Duke of Devonshire, executed by Richard Earlom , London: John Boydell 1777. 2 volumes, 2° (398 x 270mm.), 200 etched and sepia mezzotint plates by Richard Earlom after Claude Le Lorrain (lacking the frontispieces, some marginal spotting and browning), contemporary polished tree calf gilt, spine decorated in gilt with red and green morocco lettering-pieces (spines and extremities rubbed, corners bumped, some staining). FIRST EDITION. A third volume, containing one hundred plates engraved by Richard Earlom and intended to accompany these two volumes, was not published until 1819 (ESTC).
