Wetzel supportent la comparaison -- qui aient jamais été publiés par des artistes suisses' (Lonchamp, p.157). Listing four works illustrated by the Lorys (including the present), Lonchamp concludes that 'Les vues de ces Voyages sont toutes intéressantes et d'une facture magistrale et plaisante. Leur interprétation, par l'aquatinte et leur coloriage, dénote un tel raffinement de minutie et une si vive compréhension des valeurs, qu'il est téméraire de désirer quelque chose d'une exécution plus soignée et plus parfaite' (Lonchamp, pp.157-158).
