Each inscribed and signed by Ginsberg, four of which are to István Eörsi (b.1931 in Budapest), philosopher / author, a believer in radical social transformation and Marxist ideas. He became involved in clandestine resistance to the Soviet occupation of his country and was charged by the Revolutionary Council of the Writers’ Union with liaising with the KMT. Late 1956, Eörsi and his associates were arrested and sentenced five years’ imprisonment, which was then raised by the Supreme Court to eight years. He was soon freed in the 1960 amnesty but was completely banned from publication until 1962. Lot Amendments Condition: General wear overall, most with mild rubbing and edge wear, other light wear; mostly very good to near fine. Item number: 166907
