Two pyrotechnic batteries were used with the Lunar Module, one in the Descent Stage and one in the Ascent Stage. Their electrical impulse provided the means to ignite explosive charges for LM systems including reaction control subsystem pressurization, landing gear deployment, propellant tank pressurization, and ascent/descent stage separation. 2.75 by 3 by 7 inches.
