Lunar Module Development and Interior Photographs LM DESIGNS FROM 1963 TO 1969 AND LM 6 INTERIOR VIEWS A collection of 12 black and white 8 by 10 inch NASA and Grumman photographs illustrating model and artist designs plus actual interior cabin control panels and equipment. A) Five photographs, three being actual Grumman scale models showing design and development changes from 1963 to 1969. Two are artists drawings of a LM and of the all the LM control panels including the tri-angular windows. B) Two actual Grumman 1968 photographs of the LM commander’s station. The first is center on the triangular viewing window with circuit breaker panels to the left, and the FDAI and engine control switches/dials at the right. The second is a lower view showing both arm rests, attitude controllers, parts of control panels 3, 4 (showing the DSKY) and 5. The top of the exit hatch is also visible. C) Five Grumman photographs of Lunar Module 6 (Apollo 12) released in March of 1969. Clearly shown is the docking tunnel hatch, Portable Life Support System (PLSS) or backpacks to provide oxygen to space suited astronauts while on the lunar surface, space suit helmet covers, stowage areas and the environmental control system.
