Beschreibung:

Manufactured 1980 in commemoration of the 1980 Summer Olympics held in Moscow. Classic configuration of the Gold Cup National Match Fixed blade front sight with Elliason adjustable rear sights on a serrated rib. Series 70 action without firing pin safety. Slide is laser engraved on left side with floral scroll surrounding a vignette of the Olympic Torch relay in a laurel wreath, with ribbon on left reading "1980 OLYMPIC GAMES / MOSCOW, RUSSIA" and a USSR flag on right; federal shield at rear in wreath. Right side of slide has NRA emblem at rear, and a simple world map with a trap shooter on left and a bullseye shooter on right, flanked by an American flag on left and "GOLD CUP .45 CALIBER / COLT HARTFORD, CT" in ribbon on left. Other standard features include serrated small parts, Gold Cup skeletonized trigger, long 1911A1 grip safety, flat serrated mainspring housing, and fully checkered walnut grips with Colt golden medallion in center. Housed in a Colt woodgrain box with styrofoam liner housing paperwork comprising Colt manual, letter, and shooting tips pamphlet; tools include bushing wrench and allen key for sights. Factory letter confirms configuration and notes that the pistol was the sample and display pistol for the Colt factory, before it was shipped to Greg Martin Auctions in 2008; second letter is a Colt invoice identifying this gun by serial number as being sent to be placed in the archives from the custom shop, dated 1981. CONDITION: Excellent, retaining virtually all of the factory finishes with some extremely minor marks from handling and storage. Laser engraving is crisp and clear. Breech face is extremely clean; combined with the extremely light marks it is possible that this gun was test fired only. Mechanically fine, bore is excellent, bright and shiny, with crisp rifling. Box is very good with some age related distress to edges and one of the inner flaps detached but included. This is an excellent example. EMW Name Value Accessories Box Barrel Length 5" Caliber/Bore .45 ACP FFL Status Modern Manufacturer Colt Model Gold Cup Paperwork Factory letter, copy of invoice Serial Number 70N82638
