MAGGI, Giovanni (1566-1618). Nuova raccolta di fontane che si vendano. nel alma citta di Roma Tivoli e Frascati. Rome: Giovanni Giacomo Rossi [ca 1645]. Oblong 4° (262 x 398mm). Engraved throughout. Title with dedication to Andrea Corsini, 42 plates on 25 leaves, 18 leaves printed with 2 plates, by Maggi, Corduba and Barrière. (Some spotting, marginal in the main, the 13th leaf with slight surface damage to the right hand image.) Modern vellum-backed marbled boards, titled in gilt on spine. The publisher, G.J. Rossi, active between 1645 and 1690, issued this collection of views of fountains by a number of earlier engravers, in various formats, both quarto and folio. The present work corresponds to the Berlin copy in plate count, if not in format. Cf. Berlin Kat 3599.
