MAGNAN, Domenico (1731-1796). La citta di Roma. Rome: appresso V.Monaldini, G.Quojani and G.Settari, stamperia Salomoni, 1779. 4 volumes in two, 2° (418 x 275mm). Letterpress titles within fine engraved decorative borders, with engraved vignettes. 385 engraved plates on 182 leaves, one engraved head-piece in vol.I. (Some light worming to blank inner margins, particularly in first volume, third leaf of plates in vol. II with upper outer blank corner torn away and neatly repaired, the 12th and 13th plate leaves in vol. III stained.) Contemporary red half morocco (neatly re-backed, with morocco lettering-pieces laid down). Provenance : Biblioteca Banzi (bookplates). Schudt 364; Cf. Brunet V. 1235 (first edition in French); cf. Olschki 17454 (1778 first edition in French). [ With :] Giuseppe Tiburtio VERGELLI. La fontane publiche delle piazze di Roma moderna. Rome: Carlo Losi, 1773. Oblong 2° (280 x 420mm). Engraved, title and 31 plates by Pietro Girelli after Vergelli. (Title with neatly repaired tear at outer margin and upper outer corner reinforced.) Modern half sheep, spine gilt. (3)
