Silver plated cigarette case with smooth metal surface and rounded edges, hinged lid with applied Richthofen coat of arms and engraved "M.v. Richthofen", "s/l Kurt Wolff". Inside case is marked "754" and manufacturer stamp. Ca. 8 x 7 x 1.5 cm. Manfred Albrecht Freiherr von Richthofen (1892 - 1918), also known as the "Red Baron", was a fighter pilot with the German Air Force during World War I. He is considered the ace-of-aces of the war, being officially credited with 80 air combat victories. Oberleutnant Kurt Wolff (1895 - 1917) was one of Imperial Germany's highest scoring fighter aces during World War I. After claiming 33 victories, he was killed in action at the age of 22.
