Amsterdam: A. & H. de Leth, [c. 1740?]. 23 1/2 x 37 inches (94 x 60 cm); two sheets joined at center fold, as issued, with two secondary folds where the map was folded into an atlas, and a horizontal central fold. Careful paper restorations to the extreme lower right margin, just entering the printed area, otherwise a fresh example with good margins, outline color, with very full and elaborate coloring (likely early) to the vignettes. Framed, hinged to backing. An important and beautiful map showing the Americas (with California as an island), and including representations of Nouvelle Holland (i.e. Australia), and New Guinea (as Nouvelle Guinea). The tracks of various seafaring explorers are shown. The inset maps include Mexico City, Vera Cruz, Rio Janeiro [sic], Havana, and the Isthmus of Panama.
