(19 3/4 x 14 1/4 x 5/8in.), brown crushed levant morocco, covers with a quadruple border of onlaid dark green, dark brown and reddish-brown morocco bands, the frame of the upper cover filled with an Art Nouveau design of swirling and interlacing flowers, stems and leaves in green, olive, light brown, yellow, various shades of lavender and purple, gray and dark blue morocco, spine in seven compartments with six raised bands, from each of which extend 12 stylized petals (6 on each cover), in onlaid dark brown morocco, blue morocco doublures with a gilt and onlaid frame surrounding a wide floral border, the stems gilt and the flowers and stems in green, gray, beige, brown and purple morocco, silk brocade liners, g.e., gilt-stamped on upper turn-in: "Marius Michel", slight rubbed spots at extremities, upper board edge of upper cover, and lower borders of upper cover and of turn-ins, 2 small nicks to fore-edge board edges of both covers , half morocco chemise ( backstrip rubbed ) and matching slipcase ( worn, splitting ). LIMITED EDITION, NO. 1 OF THE EDITION OF 10 COPIES, ALL ON CHINE. Title printed in red and black, 25 etchings by Edmond Hédouin and Emile Boilvin after Bida, of which 8 full-page, with an extra proof of the frontispiece etching on papier vélin, and 12 wood-engraved tail-pieces by Gustave Greux.
