The first group contains a disbound group of Acts and Laws, 1700-1710, housed in a card chemise with a typed inventory. 11 1/2 x 7 1/2 inches (29 x 19 cm). Commencing with Acts and Laws ... May 1699 ... An Act for putting the Militia of this Province into a readiness for defence of the same. [Boston: printed by Bartholomew Green and John Allen 1700]. pp. 159-76. Evans 917. The group continuing with approximately 30 Acts through 1710, the pagination continuing through 346. Leaves at end worn, the final act incomplete, stains; The second group, bound in 20th century cloth, covers 1706-07. 11 1/4 x 7 inches (30.3 x 19 cm). Comprising [caption title:] Acts and laws, passed by the Great and General Court or Assembly of Her Majesties province of the Massachusetts-Bay in New-England: begun and held at Boston upon Wednesday the twenty-ninth day of May, 1706 ... [Boston: Green, 1706]. Pp. 291-305 (Evans 1249-1252, these being a continuation of the session laws published from 1699), interleaved with contemporary blanks. Repairs to final blank, stamp and a stains. An interesting group of very early 18th century laws on interesting topics such as raising dogs for security on the frontier, erecting a Powder-House in Boston and an act to "Encouraging the Prosecution of the Indian Enemy and Rebels."
