MASSACHUSETTS] The Charter granted by Their Majesties King William and Queen Mary, to the inhabitants of the province of the Massachusetts-Bay in New-England BOUND WITH Acts and laws, of Her Majesties province of the Massachusetts-Bay in New-England. Boston: Benjamin Green 1714. 20th century cloth with red and black spine labels. 11 3/8 x 7 1/4 inches (29 x 19 cm); [2], 13, vi, [2], 239, [1] pp., collating A-B^(4) (B4 verso blank); A-2H^(4) [ESTC notes that many copies, as here, have 2H2-4, the table of contents, bound after B4, the Charter, leaving 2H1--p. 239, verso blank--as a singleton at the end of the work]. Bar Association stamps on title, an extremely clean copy (possibly washed, but if so remarkably crisp, with the impress of the type strong). The separately published additional session laws from pages 295 on are certainly bound in from another copy, and are quite toned, those at the end worn, though two of the blanks bear endearing 18th century drawings. The main work consists of the session laws passed between 1692 and February 1714 "Re-printed, by order of His Excellency the governour, Council and Assembly. Isaac Addington, secr. Boston, October, 1713."--see p. [2]. Bound into this copy are the laws from following years, including Evans 1686 (pp. 241-248), Shipton & Mooney 39598, pp. 249-252, and a number of other laws (all printed by Green, the last dating to 1721) extending the work through page 360. The primary work is Evans 1686. C The New York City Bar Association
