Boston: printed and sold by Samuel Kneeland and Timothy Green, 1742 (both works). Full early (likely contemporary) calf, tooled in blind, in modern clamshell case. 11 5/8 x 7 3/8 inches (29 x 19 cm); [2], 14, 28, [2], 337, [1] pp., [+ 339-40], collating [A]^(4) B^(4) a-g^(2) A-2T^(4) 2V^(2) (2V2 verso blank), Xx1 on guard. Binding scuffed and rubbed, short repaired tears to the margins of the two title pages, Bar Association stamp and other markings on the two titles, guard-sheets once present extracted at the rear (no evidence of removed text), repaired tear to S4, early ownership inscriptions and annotations, and the bookplate of the New-Hampshire Historical Society. A composite volume comprising several Evans numbers, published thus, with an additional law (not called for) mounted in the rear. Boston: Samuel Kneeland and Timothy Green, 1742 [i.e. 1743]. Loss to blank upper right margin of title, the table toned, otherwise some staining etc., but in all a decent enough copy of a rather rare work. First act with the amusing manuscript note in ink at the head "pour George the third/poor devil he". This is Evans 5004, which, as noted on OCLC is "continued by successive issues of the temporary acts paged continuously through p. 455 (Evans 7466)," i.e. as here. Cushing 435; C The New York City Bar Association
