Coleman Mines, Arkansas To many in the gemstone industry, Arkansas and rock crystal quartz are synonymous. Formed from the two most abundant elements in the earth's crust, silicon and oxygen, quartz displays high thermo-conductivity, which makes it feel cool to the touch. Due to this property, early civilizations believed that rock quartz was permanently frozen ice. Historic records reveal that rock crystal has been used for decoration and jewelry for at least 4,000 years; tools and weapons were made from rock crystal long before its decorative uses. The present offering is an impressively large quartz cluster exhibiting numerous very large translucent to transparent well-terminated points. A spectacular and awe-inspiring display specimen. Measures 30 x 36 x 18 1/2in
