Thorpe, Duke of Wellington's Regiment 1939-45 STAR; FRANCE AND GERMANY STAR; DEFENCE AND WAR MEDALS; EFFICIENCY MEDAL, Territorial, G.VI.R. 4975472 Cpl., D.W.R.) very fine (5) Footnote Sold with copy Record of Service which confirms medals. Joined Territorial Army (8th Sherwood Foresters) 27 May 1937. B.E.F. 18 April 1940 to 12 June 1940 of which 24 April to 1 May was in Norway with 8 Foresters. N.W. Europe 15 June 1944 to 11 February 1946. Home 12 February 1946 and then to Reserve (Served in France, Belgium, Holland and Germany). Passed selection for Glider Pilot 12 November 1943. 6th Bn. D.W.R. 23 June 1944. Hallamshire Bn. (Y. & L. Regt.) 8 July 1944. 2. Glider Regt. 13 January 1944 to 6 March 1944. Commissioned at 2. Lieut., Army Cadet Force 15 September 1954; relinquished 27 January 1956.
