Titles with hand-colored engraved vignette of a fishing scene, printed dedication and list of plates in each section, the final part with index and author's note, 50 fine HAND-COLORED ENGRAVED PLATES by F.Assner from his own drawings and those of Lachenbauer and Sedelmayer, some heightened with silver and gum arabic. Contemporary Austrian marbled calf, gilt spine (spine repaired, chipping to joints, worn). Provenance : acquired from Irving Zucker Art Books, 1966. A VERY FINE COPY COLORED IN A CONTEMPORARY HAND. A RARE WORK by the Baron von Meidinger, richly illustrated by Assner's handsome plates of indigenous fish of Austria, including some Adriatic specimens. Nissen ZBI 2771.
