Meissen (Marcolini) Porcelain Two-Handled Reticulated Centerbowl Circa 1800, blue crossed swords, double line and star mark In the Neoclassic taste, of flaring circular form with two upright key handles, the sides pierced with interlocking gilt ovolo, molded with a large flowerhead and applied with roses, the lower section with acanthus and gilt swags, the socle applied with garlands and painted with scattered flower sprays above a guilloche band. Height 9 1/2 inches, width overall 10 1/4 inches. The Marcolini period takes its name from Count Camillo Marcolini Prime Minister of Saxony and Director of the Meissen works from 1774-1814.
