Offprint from the Journal of the Royal Horticultural Society 26, parts 1 and 2 (1901). London: Spottiswoode & Co. for The Royal Horticultural Society, 1901. 8 o (246 x 156 mm). Original printed wrappers (lightly soiled, spine worn, minor chipping to edges of upper cover); folding cloth case. Provenance : Agnes Robertson, later Agnes Arber (1879-1960), botanist and historian, author of a standard history of early printed herbals ( Herbals, their History and Evolution , Cambridge 1912) and of numerous studies of comparative plant anatomy (signature on front wrapper).
