Mercedes-Benz 500K Special Roadster - A fine and large scale-model of the rare sporting coachwork style supercharged roadster, by Nick Bock; built to the most exacting standards, this represents the pinnacle of the model-maker's art. Copied from the original motor-car in the Daimler-Benz Museum in Stuttgart, this most detailed model includes specialised castings and machined parts for the engine, which alone took 2 months to build. Superb attention to detail is also focused on the interior and dashboard instruments, with the bright metal parts made from sterling silver, and needles set in under the glazed lenses; almost all parts are moveable, with opening doors, and operable hood, etc.; in all, one of the very finest representations by this well respected model maker who painstakingly constructed this model in 2,340 working hours. 1:5 scale.
