MERIGOT, James]. A Select Collection of Views and Ruins in Rome and its Vicinity . London: sold by Messrs. Robinsons, Mr. White, Mr. Faulder, and Mr. Evans, n.d. [watermarked 1827-1828]. Large 2° (475 x 325mm.), text in English and French, hand-coloured aquatint frontispiece and 62 hand-coloured aquatint plates. Original red half roan and marbled boards with printed paper label on upper cover (label and upper cover with a few minor abrasions). FINE LARGE PAPER COLOURED COPY, with the original printed label "Imperial Paper #15.15s," and AN ADDITIONAL PLATE The Cascatelle and Stables of Mecoenas not called for by the list of plates. However, this plate is listed by Abbey, who omits the similar Waterfalls under the Mills . The plates, dated 1796-98, are fine impressions in spite of the late watermark. Abbey Travel 178.
