Date: 1978 Description: Eight original graphic works by eight artists. Each signed and numbered 117/250 in pencil at bottom of image. Approximately 76x55 cm. (30x22¾"), set in folding cloth portfolio with ribbon ties, along with printed contents listing, as issued. Limited to 250 copies. Very rare set of original graphic creations for performances by the Metropolitan Opera. The works include: Carmen, by Antionio Clavé, a five color embossed intaglio print; Tristan und Isolde, by Léonor Fini, a twelve-color serigraph; Der Rosenkavalier, by Richard Lindner a twenty-two color lithograph; La Traviata, by Merino Merini, an eleven color lithograph; Don Giovanni, by André Masson a nine-color lithograph; Madama Butterfly, by Larry Rivers a mixed-media print of eight colors in lithography and three colors in serigraphy; Aida, by Paul Wunderlich a five-color lithograph; and La Bohème, by Jamie Wyeth a sixteen-color lithograph.
