MEZQUITA (DATES UNKNOWN) MAROC - FRANCE

Estimate

Beschreibung:

MEZQUITA (DATES UNKNOWN) MAROC - FRANCE A TRAVERS L'ESPAGNE. Circa. 1939. 39 1/2x26 inches, 100 1/4x66 cm. Graficas Valencia, Seville. Condition B: extensive creases and abrasions in image and along vertical and horizontal folds, especially in lower text; foxing on linen border, not affecting poster. Traveling from France to Morocco was often accomplished via sea, with passengers sailing through the Mediterranean from Marseille. However, as the Spanish train companies wanted to explain to travelers, sometimes the shortest distance between two points is a straight line. They supported their contention by visually suggesting that the trip itself was child's play. The poster text at the bottom reads: "It does not make sense to choose the longest path, when the shortest is also the best." Espana 1029.
