London: Methuen & Co. Ltd., 1926. Small 8vo (7 7/16 x 4 3/4 inches; 187 x 121 mm). Half-title. Title vignette, illustrations (a few full-page) and decorations, all uncoloured line and all after Shepard. Original green cloth, upper cover and spine blocked in gilt, pictorial endpapers, t.e.g., dust-jacket. Condition : Occasional light spotting; binding with small bumps to upper cover, light offsetting and spotting to endpapers. first edition: a beautiful copy of this children’s classic, with the dust jacket in excellent condition . Milne produced four "Pooh" books: the first in 1924, the last in 1928. Winnie-the-Pooh, in which Pooh and all his friends and acquaintances are properly introduced is the second in the series. Shepard's illustrations are an integral part of each work. The settings for the majority of the stories is the "100 Aker Wood" based on the part of the Ashdown Forest (in Sussex, England) that was close to Milne's house.
