Lot of 20 miscellaneous Civil War documents, letters, and ledgers. Includes: An ALS from 1st Lieut. George W. Graffam (?) requesting payment for his service. Dated December 10, 1866. 1 p. equipage for Co. F on August 31, 1864. 1 p. Confederate Capt. F. Saunders request form for a forage-horse for 60 days from August until October, 1862. ADS bounty request form authored by Samuel Lake asking to give the widow of William M. Sean of Co. K 12th NY Cav. Vols. Dated August 28, 1868. A request for stationary for Co. K 34th IL Vol. Inf. dated July 1, 1864. 1864 clothing and equipage from a "Camp in the Field," for Co. F 26th OH Inf. DS Camp Garrison Invoice of Clothing, Camp and Garrison Equipage and a receipt roll of clothing signed by 2nd Lieut. C. Hill from Co. F. 26th OH. Cyrus Hill mustered in as a private July 8, 1861. Over a series of two years he rose to the ranks of 2nd Lieut. He fought in the battle of Shiloh, Chickamauga, and joined General Sherman in his march. Another 1 p. ledger of clothing for Co. F. 26th OH Vol. Inf. signed by C. Hill for August 1864. Five blank certificate of muster forms and receipts for issues. A 1 p. ALS from Stephen Ellis to his family. At the end of the letter is an original illustration of "Jeff Davis' carrier dove," smoking a pipe. A 1 p. from Jennie E. Smith to her friend Emma. Jennie relays to Emma the latest town news of engagements and social events. Dated May 8th. 3 ALSs by M.E. Ingalls of Cincinnati to an unknown person in Boston and New York. Dated January 10 and 17, 1874 and May 23, 1876. "Greenough is doing nothing," writes Ingalls. "His plea is Mrs. Burnside having died he does not wish to intrude on the General so soon." Ingalls goes onto discuss more business matters about bonds. In the 1874 letters, Burnside apparently owed some money towards some bonds that he could not pay. He canceled some shares in an unidentified road. 1 p. ALS from Charlotte Viety of East Grandy (?). The letter is to her nephew who promised to visit but have not come. Viety writes, "We are very lonely here this winter hardly see anyone or those we want to see----." 1. ALS letter from a civil war soldier, Eugene E. Worthen in Bolives (?), VA to his sister. Dated October 23, 1862. He speaks to his sister about recovering from an illness and returning to drills. He also speaks about his cravings for apples and beech nuts. Worthen was a member of Co. H 19th ME and mustered in as a private on July 25, 1862. He was discharged for an unknown disability on February 6, 1863. Condition: Typical folds on the letters, some have cases of browning between the folds. All documents are in good condition.
