"I recd. your favor of yesterday, and in reply would say that I have on hand one hundred Barrels of Flour and almost one thousand pounds of Meal. I am issuing meal altogether. Capt. Williams also informs me that he has on hand six thousand pounds Flour & Meal, have you recd. the Candlewicks if so please send us some also 20 Boxes tobacco if you have it." George Alderson was born in Lebanon, TN in 1845. He enlisted in the 10th KY Cavalry, where he served as Captain and Assistant Commissary Sergeant, CSA. He lived for many years at Bondtown until shortly before his death in 1929. Partially printed DS, Commonwealth of Virginia. Summons for Capt. Wm. Proctor to testify in a court matter on behalf of F. H. Harrison in a case against Lt. Edmunds Gee (5th VA Cav.). Signed by clerk of court, E. M. Mann. Program for the 41st Annual Convention (1934) of the United Daughters of the Confederacy at the Roosevelt Hotel, NY. Included is a separate program for Thursday evening, Nov. 22. General Program is 5.5 x 8.25 in., 29pp in grey printed wraps. Page 10 has a photograph of Robert E. Lee IV, about 10 years of age, in a full uniform. Single sheet with four lithographed portraits of Confederate Officers, by Chas. Magnus, NY: Gen. Hindman; Maj. Gen. Kirby Smith; Gen. T.L. Clingman; and Com. F. Buchanan. Condition: All in good condition. Ink a bit light on summons. Folds as expected on letter. Last with upper right corner missing, does not impact portrait.
