Lot of 34 miscellaneous images. Cabinet card of soldier, probably 1865-1869, wearing a mixture of Civil War vintage items and Indian Wars items. With photographer's ID of Skeines, Cincinnati, Ohio in lower margin. Panoramic image, 6 x 16 in. (sight), framed. Wreck of US Airship Shenandoah. The first of four rigid airships built by the Navy, the Shenandoah was destroyed in a storm over Ohio in September 1925. This image identified in the negative as taken by "Davies/ Parkersburg / W VA." The airship wreckage is surrounded by dozens of people, many of whom likely came to collect "souvenirs." Two large images (approx. 11 x 14 in.) of an entertainment venue with a stage full of players in costume. On verso of both is "To Noble Charles Beard, Esq. from Les. Scrimger / 10 - 5- 71." Some of the costumes are reminiscent of Vaudeville minstrel shows with all players being male. A large format albumen on 10 x 12.75 in. mount of a stagecoach drawn by six mules (?) in from of "Hotel Wolf." In pencil near bottom is a manuscript note: "The way we travel to and from the R.R. / E.H. Parkison (?) on the seat with driver." 6 x 8 in. albumen of Western-looking street, with a number of mounted men loitering around. Faint caption lower left "J.R. Critenden's Pack Train Leaving Valdez, Alaska." Also probably the photographer and his image number: "P.S. Hunt / G857." Appears to have been removed from a mount with many wrinkles and torn corners. Six stereoviews: Rough Riders on Parade, Camp Wikoff; Sioux Indian Chief. He-No-Fraid.; Moki Indian at Home; Moki Indian House (these three Indian views from "World Series"); The Ohio River at Cincinnati, showing several tall stack river boats docked; Among the Cotton Bales, Ga. with a couple of African Americans in front of and between two large bales of cotton. Realphoto postcard shows an early German plane shot down at Salonique (Thessaloniki), with the locals checking it out. Realphoto postcard of small dirigible with dozens of people checking it out. A photo with manuscript label "Pilgrim" has a note on verso: "This is the smallest dirigable [sic] in the world. The Goodyear made it and it was christened the Pilgrim the day this picture was taken. It carries 6 passengers." This would seem to be the same machine as on the postcard. Two German advertising cards with color lithographs of early flying machines. One with "Militarflugmaschine / Farman-Apparet." (Military flying machine / Farman apparatus); verso with advertising for "Huhner and Enten, Frankfurt am Main." The other with "Gleitflieger im fluge" (glider in flight) with advertising for "Ruenzer & Company, Freiburg, Baden." Another group of eleven realphoto postcards: 'La Gruta' Restaurant en Teotihuacan, Mexico (2 - 1 used); Temple of Quetzalcoatl, Teotihuacan; second with same title, different view of teh temple; Pyramid of the Sun, Teotihuacan; Pyramid of the Moon, Teotihuacan; High Priests, Gods and Warriors, Teotihuacan; The Discovery of Pulque, Reina Xochitl, Mexico; The Altar of the Virgin of Guadalupe; El Ixtaceihuatl, Mexico (possibly blue agave plants); and Musicians at Teotihuacan, Mexico. Plus mounted photo, 1.25 x 1.5 in. of three women. Six color postcards, one photograph, the others lithographs. Three (same) of Antoine's Restaurant, New Orleans; Old St. Louis Cemetery, New Orleans (photo); Charlotte Street of Olden Days, St. Augustine, Florida / The Oldest City in the United States; and "An Other View of the Hotel "Fundicion," Zimpan, H[ilda]go. Mexico."
