Lot consists of: Four images, one cap box and one infantry cartridge box. Images are cased, with glass mats and frames. (A) Sixth plate tintype seated soldier holding revolver across chest. Nine button jacket, no cap. Dark, flaking to surface. Leatherette case with good hinge. (B) Ninth plate, waist-up tintype with good tone and clarity. Soldier in cap and shell jacket. Leatherette case with repaired hinge. (C) Ninth plate tintype, waist-up, hatless, infantry enlisted frock. Good clarity, small spot above shoulder on left. Leatherette case with taped hinge. (D) Half plate tintype, two men seated with two standing behind. Left figure with military coat showing brass buttons. Figure upper left with cigar and possibly military cap. Image is dark. Rubbing to right. Housed in a worn thermoplastic case with Littlefield and Parsons paper label in rear. Face with lady seated on bullock with walking and mounted figures. Chips, edge wear, granulated surface. Rear geometric and floral. (E) 1861 pattern infantry cartridge box. No tins. Buckles, straps, implement pouch, flaps side ears, etc. all in place and secure. Inner flap marked Longley & Co. / Lewiston, ME / 1863. Scuffs and wear spots, but solid and could be dressed up. A nice mid-war box. Dated accouterments are unusual. Top line maker stamp light but legible. Seams good. Flap pierced with slots for plate and central hole possibly for postwar militia insignia. (F) Cap box. Regulation single piece outer flap. Light Nece maker mark and Sniffen inspector. Light crackling to finish, otherwise good. Finish worn from backs of belt loops. Solid piece. No fleece. Rag and caps inside, likely from modern use.
