Iraqi born British artist Nadira Azzouz began painting from the age of six. She gained her BA in painting from the Central School of Art and Design, London. She continued to paint until her death in December 2020. For Azzouz, painting often became a communication with inner visions, inner eruptions to which no figure or word could do justice, hence her emphasis and play on colour. Her more recent works show a more lyrical and diaphanous side to her practice.
