Original black morocco gilt with two armorials and facsimile signature stamped in gilt on upper cover, gilt spine and edges, matching slipcase. NUMBER 224 OF 265 COPIES signed by Montgomery. With 17 other volumes of history and literature bound in morocco, including a quarto edition of Don Quixote illustrated by Gustave Doré (London, [c. 1870]) with a contemporary fore-edge painting; and the 2-volume Nonesuch Press edition of the same work (London, 1930) in full blue morocco.
