Large 8vo, original blue and cream boards, leather spine label, unopened, some extremities slightly rubbed; dust jacket (a little worn); half morocco slipcase. "Author's Edition" (actually the second American edition, revised and expanded), number 15 of 1500 copies, THE DEDICATION COPY, inscribed by Moore on the front free endpaper to his Boni & Liveright editor: "To T R Smith with many kind regards, George Moore March 30th, 1921." The 12-line printed "Epistle Dedicatory" begins: "Dear Mr. Smith, My writings languished in America before you took charge of them, and as a token of my indebtedness and gratitude I feel I should like to have your name in this book..." There was no printed dedication in earlier editions of Memoirs of My Dead Life: the "Epistle Dedicatory" to Smith appears only in this edition, later editions being dedicated to Edmund Gosse.
