Shortland by a bill of exchange on the Lords of the Treasury 1/2 per cent on all money conveyed from Sicily to Gibraltar in His Majesty's Ship Queen for the use of the army under my command. Given under my hand this second day of December 1807 at Gibraltar ", single page, written to recto only, a few tears to folds and edges, seal remnant, together with an early photograph of Sir John Moore's memorial on Sandgate Esplanade, Sandgate, Kent (mounted within a 19th century full green morocco gilt binding), and a loose engraving of the original monument to Sir John Moore at Corunna, published by John Booth, 1810 (built over his grave on the orders of Marshal Soult, and rebuilt in 1811) (3)
