With Other Novelties, first edition, black letter, woodcut initials, head- and tail-pieces, lacking final blank f., title a little soiled and with lower corner restored, title and 7 other ff. with very small portion of restoration to head, closely shaved at head, occasionally touching headlines, occasional very light foxing, bookplate, 19th century calf, gilt, [STC 4300], small 4to, by Thomas Purfoot for Clement Knight, and are to be sold at his shop in Paules Churchyard, at the signe of the Holie Lambe, 1609. ⁂ The Beckford copy of this rare account of the history of Morocco and Barbary. We can trace no copy at auction in the last 70 years. The authorship is attributed here in a 19th century hand to Captain Robert Coverte, however it is elsewhere attributed to Robert Cottington and Robert Chambers Provenance: William Beckford (bookplate).
