Letterpress title, with list of plates on verso. 12 tinted lithographic plates drawn on stone by J.Needham after Mrs. Clark, printed by Day & Son. (Title torn with loss to blank margins, marginal spotting, dampstaining and occasional small tears.) Unbound within original cloth-backed paper wrappers, (worn, torn with loss to margins). Provenance : L.E.B.Clayton (Charlcombe Manor, nr.Bath, inscription). A Rare series of views, titled: I. Cottage residences on the Jhelum, provided by Maharajah Goolab Singh for british officers; II. Palace and part of the fort, Srinugur; III. Bridge over the Jhelum, in the city; IV. Zearut, containing the shrine of Shah Hamadan; V. View of the Hurree Purbut, from the seventh and last bridge in the city, looking up the river; VI. View of the city and Jummu Musjeed, from Hurree Purbut; VII. Ancient temple on the Tukt-I-Suleman; VIII. The Kashmeer lake, from Nusseeb Bagh; IX. Ancient temple, Pundruttun, above Srinugur; X. Temple of the sun, Martund, Islamabad; XI. View over the Wulur Lake, and mountains of Ladak, including Nunga Purbut, from the slope of Gool Murg mountain; XII. Bapum Reesh: A moosulman benevolent establishment on the ascent to the Gool Murg mountain.
