La baie protégée du Port Bradshaw est séparée de la haute mer (Golfe de Carpentarie) par un bras de terre et de hautes dunes faisant face au soleil levant. A l'est se trouve Yalangbara, pays du clan Rirratjingu. C'est là qu'accostèrent les Djang'kawu, êtres créateurs pour le clan des Dhuwa, suite à leur départ de l'île aux morts, Buralku, leur lieu d'origine. Après avoir escaladé les dunes, les Djang'kawu, deux soeurs et leur frère, pratiquèrent le premier rituel attribuant cette terre aux Rirratjingu. Ils embarquèrent ensuite pour ce qui allait devenir l'épopée de la création selon la mythologie des Dhuwa. Ils chantèrent leur chemin, tout en ramant. Alors qu'ils approchaient du continent et que le soleil commençait à se lever, ils chantèrent les espèces aquatiques et l'eau éclairée par les étoiles et la lune. A Mumutthun, au nord-est, près de Yalangbara, l'eau douce des divers trous d'eau créés par les Djang'kawu se mélange à l'eau salée. Les poissons- chats Djulurrpl qui sautaient autour du canoë sont aussi représentés sur ce poteau. Les miny'tji, motifs sacrés du clan, symbolisent ce pays et sont imprégnés des pouvoirs des Djang'kawu. The protected bay of saltwater named on maps below Cape Arnhem as Port Bradshaw is separated from the open sea (Gulf of Carpentaria) by open bush land on sand behind the highest dunes in the Territory, that face the "sunrise" side (East). Yalangbara is the Rirratjingu clan country on the sunrise side and where the Dhuwa Moiety creator beings, the Djang'kawu, first arrived from their point of departure of the mythical island of the dead, Buralku. The Djang'kawu, two sisters with their brother, ascended the dunes from the beach and on the other side performed first ritual proclaiming land there for the Rirratjingu. Not far from the shore of Port Bradshaw the Djang'kawu embarked on what was to become the epic creation mythology for the Dhuwa clans. As they paddled they sang their journey. As they approached the mainland and as the sun was just about to rise they sang the species in the water touched by star and moolight. Adjacent to Yalangbara in the North East known as Mumutthun. Freshwater from wells created by the Djang'kawu mixes with salt. In the case of the painting of this pole the mullet Djulurrpl who jump in and around the canoe were named for the Rirratjingu.
