Music manuscript in red & black assembling several titled pieces (songs ?) alternated with texts in Hungarian. Some pages cancelled with a cross in pencil. At the end of almost every piece initials "C.V." and a date. Possibly music in honour of Remenyi or arrangements of Remenyi's music. At the end longer music pieces and texts and a table of content. Ede or Eduard Reményi (in Hungarian : Reményi Ede, 1828-1898) was a Hungarian violinist and composer. After banishment from Austria in 1848 he went to Germany where he met the 15-year-old Johannes Brahms. In 1852 he returned to Europe, after a stay in the United States because of German persecutions, toured with Brahms and came into contact with Franz Liszt. Obtaining amnesty in 1860, Remenyi returned to Hungary and became soloist to Emperor Franz Joseph. He than made some brilliant tour and finally died on scene. Manuscript to be studied. We join : Pourtalès, Guy de - La vie de Franz Liszt. Paris, Librairie Gallimard, 1934, 8vo, half black shagreen, spine on 5 raised bands, 310-[1] pp. Ms. dedication on flyleaf. (2 pcs)
