Beschreibung:

Designed in 1944 by request of the Swedish military, who was interesting in adopting a new more cost-efficient submachine gun to replace their M/37-39 submachine guns. While the M/45 ultimately was chosen due to Carl Gustaf being a state-owned factory, Denmark subsequently showed interest in the Hovea M/45s design and adopted it in 1949. This example was manufactured by Haerens Vabenarsenalet and shows much semblance to Carl Gustaf's design. The left side of the receiver bears the serial number, with the left side of the magazine well being stamped with a crown over "FKF" and "9mm Mp M/49". Features include a matte blue finish, 8 - 1/2" barrel, perforated barrel shroud, post front sight, flip-up rear sight, 2-piece smooth wood grips, as well as a side-folding stock. Matching numbers are present on the receiver and barrel shroud. Complete with a period leather sling and a canvas magazine pouch. Also accompanying this example is a copy of the August 1999 issue of Small Arms Review, where this specimen is pictured and described by J. R. Moody. PROVENANCE: From the collection of esteemed NFA firearms enthusiast and collector J. R. Moody. CONDITION: Very good, with metal components retaining the vast majority of their factory-applied matte blue finish, exhibiting some scattered marks overall that show through to light silvering from handling and storage. Mirror bore, exhibiting sharp and well-defined lands and grooves throughout. Grips show a few scattered handling marks and a couple minor impressions but are otherwise fine. THIS IS A NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT ITEM AND REQUIRES BATF APPROVAL PRIOR TO TRANSFER. THIS ITEM IS FULLY TRANSFERABLE ON AN ATF FORM 3 OR 4 AS CURIO AND RELIC ELIGIBLE.
