Model 1928 A22 Thompson machine gun manufactured by Auto Ordnance in very small numbers during the 1980s. The left side of the receiver is stamped "I.S/ MODEL 1928 A22/ No. 237TF" followed by "THOMPSON SUBMACHINE GUN/ CALIBER .22 L.R.". Top of receiver bears the Thompson bullet logo, with the right side bearing stampings stipulating the patent information and manufacturer information. Receiver and trigger are comprised of aluminum, with the aluminum barrel featuring steel lining. Features include an anodized black finish, 11 - 1/2" barrel with cooling fins, Cutts pattern compensator, fixed inverted 'V' front sight, aperture rear sight, magazine well adaptor, as well as a solid walnut buttstock, pistol grip, and foregrip. This example is accompanied by 1 additional 30-round magazine. CONDITION: Excellent, with metal components retaining the vast majority of their original factory-applied black anodized finish, exhibiting some light wear on some edges that shows through to silvering, as well as some scattered superficial marks from handling and storage overall. Very bright bore, exhibiting well-defined lands and grooves throughout. Walnut furniture shows a few minor marks from handling and storage but is otherwise fine. A very attractive, high condition example of an Auto Ordnance Thompson Model 1928 A22 machine gun, chambered in an inexpensive and popular caliber.
