Beschreibung:

Mass produced during the Second World War, the PPSh-41 proved to be a crucial element in the Red Army's fighting force after the German invasion of Russia, at times being issued at the company level due to its low cost and ease of manufacture. This example was manufactured at the Vyatskie Polyany Machine-Building Plant in 1945, which served as one of the primary manufacturers of the PPSh-41 during World War II. The top of the receiver bears the Vyatskie Polyany factory star within a shield logo over "1945", just forward of the chamber. Features include a blue finish, 1-piece wood stock, ventilated barrel shroud, chrome-lined bore, as well as flip-up a rear sight set for firing at 100 and 200 meters. Matching numbers are present on the upper receiver, lower assembly tang, as well as the trigger guard. Bolt has been deactivated via a strike that removed the firing pin. Butt trap door is not present. This example is accompanied by 1 period 71-round drum magazine. CONDITION: Metal components retain good amounts of their arsenal applied blue finish, exhibiting areas of wear overall that show through to grey and brown patinas, and also exhibits scattered areas of surface oxidation overall. Mirror bore, exhibiting well-defined lands and grooves throughout. Stock shows scattered marks, dings, and impressions from storage and handling, with a crack visible at the left side of the lower assembly tang on the wrist, but otherwise appears sturdy and serviceable. While approximately 5,000,000 PPSh-41 submachine guns were produced in Soviet Russia, few examples were brought into the United States early enough to be Curio & Relic or Fully Transferable eligible, making this a sought-after example of iconic Soviet PPSh-41 submachine gun.
