AUG/SA originally manufactured as a semi-automatic rifle by Steyr-Daimler-Puch and imported by Gun South Inc. This example is currently fitted with a La Frances Specialties auto sear pack. The right side of the stock is marked "STEYR-DAIMLER-PUCH AG AUSTRIA" over "AUG/SA", with the "SA" having been scrubbed. Right side of barrel bears Austrian proofs followed by a Gun South, Inc. import stamp. Left side of trigger pack is marked with a La France Specialties encircled "LS" logo over "LA FRANCE SPECIALTIES/ SAN DIEGO, CA. U.S.A./ AUG .2233 CAL./ SN 055G". Features include a black enamel finish, 13 - 1/4" quick detach chrome-lined barrel with collapsible vertical foregrip, flash suppressor, iconic AUG integral 1.5x optic with backup iron sights, as well as an olive drab polymer stock. Matching numbers are present on the receiver and bolt carrier. PROVENANCE: From the collection of esteemed NFA firearms enthusiast and collector J. R. Moody. CONDITION: Metal components retain the vast majority of their original factory-applied black enamel finish, with the receiver exhibiting some light wear overall from handling and use. Exceptional bore, exhibiting well-defined lands and grooves throughout. Polymer furniture is fine. Optic is excellent. The AUG has been adopted by many nation's militaries due to its versatility as a battle rifle, largely owing to its popularity among collectors and recreational shooters today and making this a very attractive example of Steyr's iconic AUG machine gun. THIS IS A NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT ITEM AND REQUIRES BATF APPROVAL PRIOR TO TRANSFER. THIS ITEM IS FULLY TRANSFERABLE ON AN ATF FORM 3 OR 4.
