Beschreibung:

Carl Gustav M/45 Swedish K machine gun with matching numbered barrel, shroud, and receiver with Swedish crown proofs. 1 original leather sling is included. This very popular model was manufactured with a detachable magazine housing which enables this gun to use either the standard 36-round magazines or the 50-round “coffin” magazines. The M-45 was developed World War II, but final development and adoption was at the end of the war and hence, the end product was manufactured under “peacetime” conditions and is of the highest quality fit and finish. This specimen was manufactured near the beginning of the production run. Full-auto only operation with slotted receiver tube cut-out for bolt to be held to the rear as on the MP-40, side-folding wire-loop shoulder brace with a rubber tubing to provide comfort to the firer much like the Madsen, and charging handle which doubles as a forward bolt lock in the manner of the Austen and other designs. Electronic NFA registry indicates “Sweden” as the manufacturer. PROVENANCE: From the collection of esteemed NFA firearms enthusiast and collector J. R. Moody. CONDITION: Smooth, dull blue refinish with white filled SNs and proof marks. There is a slightly discolored area about 1" x 1/2" on both sides of receiver tube, forward of magazine well. Wood is extremely fine with crown proof and only slight handling marks. Black rubber cheek protector on shoulder loop extremely fine. Bore is near excellent, shiny, and bright. Bolt face extremely fine. Mechanics are crisp. This is a fully automatic only machine gun. The Swedish M/45 (Swedish K) was the standard submachine gun for Sweden from 1945 to 1965, and it is much admired and sought after as a recreational machine gun here in the United States. Many Vietnam veterans encountered this gun for the first time while in military service and were much taken with its handling and shooting qualities. THIS IS A NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT ITEM AND REQUIRES BATF APPROVAL PRIOR TO TRANSFER. THIS ITEM IS FULLY TRANSFERABLE ON AN ATF FORM 3 OR 4 AS CURIO AND RELIC ELIGIBLE.
