Beschreibung:

Originally developed and produced by Smith & Wesson to compensate for the U.S. Navy Seals lack of imported Swedish M/45 submachine guns during the Vietnam War. This example, with a "U" serial number prefix, was produced for the civilian and law enforcement market, with the right side of the magazine release assembly bearing the Smith & Wesson logo and the left side bearing Smith & Wesson's manufacturer information. Right side of receiver is stamped "MOD. 76" followed by the serial number, with "SMITH & WESSON" on the left. Selector switch is marked "SAFE", SEMI", and "FULL". Features include a grey phosphate finish, 8" barrel, full-length perforated barrel shroud, standard fixed front and rear sights, ambidextrous selector switch, side-folding stock, as well as 2-piece checkered black plastic grips. Side-folding stock features a rubberized coating, providing additional control and comfort for the operator. Registry lists the manufacturer as "SMITH & WESSON/ SPRINGFIELD, MA" with the model block listing "M76". This example is accompanied by an original and matching factory cardboard box exhibiting its original end label as well as an "A. L. PARKER / TESTER / S&W" ink stamp. CONDITION: Metal components retain the vast majority of their original factory-applied matte phosphate finish, exhibiting a few minor superficial markings from handling and storage as well as some scattered spots of freckling overall. Receiver shows usual area of wear at the selector switch from operation. Mirror bore, exhibiting well-defined lands and grooves throughout. Grip shows some scattered handling marks as well as a few minor dings from storage and handling but is otherwise fine. Original factory cardboard box is very good, showing some separation of the tape on one side, but otherwise is sturdy and serviceable. A very attractive Smith & Wesson Model 76 that is accompanied by its matching factory box. THIS IS A NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT ITEM AND REQUIRES BATF APPROVAL PRIOR TO TRANSFER. THIS ITEM IS FULLY TRANSFERABLE ON AN ATF FORM 3 OR 4.
