Beschreibung:

This is an especially attractive offering of an Auto Ordnance, West Hurley Model 1928 Thompson which has been upgraded with Colt Model 1921 internal parts and with a front sight to make it appear as a Colt 1921A Thompson. Additional desirable accessories include a Gordan Herigstad “Viola / Thompson” case fitted out with: 2 50-round matte blue finish Auto Ordnance Bridgeport manufactured drums, 6 20-round magazines (1 with no patent date, 1 with 1920 patent dates, 2 Seymore, and 2 with Bridgeport address), and 6 30-round magazines (4 Seymore, and 2 U.S. Cartridge Co). Additional accessories include an Auto Ordnance 10-round drum, a new manufactured finned barrel without front sight, 2 unmarked forend irons (grip mounts), 1 horizontal forend and 1 vertical forend, Colt 1921 actuator with buffer, 2 buffer pilots, 2 1921 mainsprings, 1 unmarked bolt complete with firing pin and extractor, 1 mint “Lyman” marked adjustable rear sight assembly (no screws), 1 breech oiler with felt pads, 1 brass oiler for buttstock trap, bag of 1928 internal parts including “S” marked actuator, breech oiler, and buffer pilot with disc. Also a plastic bag of small parts including 2 extractors, 1 ejector, frame latch button with spring, a front sight, 2 long screws for vertical forend attachment, a brass lock, an actuator stud, 16 - 1/4" long brass cleaning rod, and tin oil bottle. The original factory cardboard box and owner's manual is also included with this lot. Electronic NFA registry indicates “AUTO ORDNANCE” as the manufacturer. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is near excellent polished lustrous blue finish on both sides of the receiver and sides of the lower assembly as well as on the top of the receiver and the barrel. Contoured edges of the receiver, front sight band, and underside of lower to rear of the pistol grip, and also forward of the magazine well have a dull matte finish, with some very slight discoloration to the grip mount metal where it is inserted into the receiver. Some slight loss of finish where the charging handle rides in the receiver, and where the buttstock slides on and off the receiver. Wood is near excellent with barely perceptible handling marks. Magazines near excellent lustrous original finish with some thinning of the finish to a grey patina on the 1920 patent date magazine. Bore is near excellent, shiny, and bright. Bolt face is extremely fine. Mechanics are crisp. This is a select-fire machine gun. Just a really SPECIAL West Hurley Thompson with the upgraded and spare parts that really “plus-up” this lot to a higher level than any other West Hurley gun ever before described by this cataloger. LOVE the fitted “Viola” carrying case too. Just the thing to transport this ensemble in so as not to arouse unwanted attention. THIS IS A NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT ITEM AND REQUIRES BATF APPROVAL PRIOR TO TRANSFER. THIS ITEM IS FULLY TRANSFERABLE ON AN ATF FORM 3 OR 4 AS CURIO AND RELIC ELIGIBLE.
