NAPOLEON I. Document annotated and signed ("Bonaparte"), "Minute d'Arrt," the word "nul" written with a large flourish in Napoleon's hand, document dated Paris, Prairial, an 10 [May or June of 1802]. 1 page, 4to, 251 x 200 mm. (9.7/8 x 7.7/8 in.). Napoleon here nullifies the appointment of Claude Denise Nol Brugniere as Adjutant Commander. Officer Brugniere was a member of the ill-fated Arme de Saint Domingue. Under the auspices of General Victor Emmanuel Leclerc, the army reached Santo Domingo in 1802. Although nearly done in by yellow fever, they eventually captured the rebel leader Toussaint l'Ouverture later that year.
