(16 x 19 in.), in later red straight-grained morocco folding case by SANGORSKI & SUTCLIFFE . A "Brevet de Chevalier" for Bon Joseph Dacier, elevating him to the minor nobility. Already a member of the Lgion d'Honneur, Dacier was the "Scrtaire Perpetuel de la Classe d'Histoire a Littrature Ancienne de l'Institut," the administrator for Napoleon's Imperial Library, and a member of the Elector College for the Department of the Seine and Oise.
