Nasa. Vue de la surface lunaire par la sonde Ranger IX avant son impact sur le sol lunaire le 24 mars 1965. L'altitude de prise de vue est d'approximativement de 258 miles. On aperçoit sur la droite de la photographie dans la partie inférieur le cratère lunaire "Alphonsus". Sur la partie supérieure de l'image le grand cratère est "Alpatragius" avec en son centre une montagne. La sonde Ranger IX termine le programme "Ranger" qui permit à l'Homme de recueilllir les premières vues rapprochées du sol lunaire. Tirage argentique d'époque.
