NAVAL DOCUMENTS -- a collection of autograph letters and documents, 18th and 19th centuries, comprising: Admiral of the Fleet Sir William PARKER (five autograph letters signed to Admiral Sir John Thomas DUCKWORTH, 18½ pages, folio and 4to , Gibraltar, Greenwich, Portsmouth, Ham, 1799-1802, discussing the sharing of prize money with the Portuguese Navy and other matters relating to prize money, asking him to inform Nelson 'as I have no correspondence with Men so great'; criticising St Vincent's selfishness and the conduct of 'The Great Lord, the Man that stabs Folks in the dark, I mean the late Chief, you know who I mean', and, referring to other senior officers including 'your present Chief as sly as a Fox, and as voracious as a Wolf in Money concerns'; he refers to his own difficulties in the Navy, his recall 'upon charges of misdemeanour and his request to be tried by court martial.
