Title: Near complete run of Book Club of California annual keepsake sets, from 1933-2011 Author: Place: San Francisco Publisher: Book Club of California Date: 1933-2011 Description: A near complete run (of the years 1933-2011) of the annual keepsake slipcase volumes with chemises, each containing several individual keepsake booklet issues. Years include: 1934-1942, 1946-2011. (8vo) mix of slipcase bindings: quarter leather & cloth, quarter faux leather & cloth, and regular full cloth (many of the earlier years with the quarter leather), with gilt-lettered spine labels. A small collection of assorted individual keepsakes from various years are included as well. A significant collection representing some of the most important writings, publications, art work and other areas of fine printing in California and the West, including 1946's A Camera in the Gold Rush, complete with 13 photo-gravure prints. 1933-34's California Mining Town is present and complete with all 12 views. All included sets have not been examined outside of chemises, but are thought to be complete. 1933-34, 1976-77, 1980-82 and 2006-2007 are combined sets. Included are duplicate sets of the years 1948, 1949, 1954, 1962, 1966, 1967 (3 copies), 1968, 1969, 1989, and 2006-2007. Also included are individual keepsake volumes fro the years 201302015, as well as a few others. Also included is the limited (1/50) hardcover edition of David Magee's Catalogue of the Publications, Keepsakes & Ephemera..., and a very good copy of the William Morris Broadside Illustrating Two Stages in the Design of the Kelmscott Chaucer, printed by Grabhorn Press for Book Club members in 1934.
