Chief Justice Beasley" [of the Supreme Court of New Jersey, d. 1897]. Neat early annotations pertaining to law dates, pagination. etc. throughout. A fine run of the early session laws of New Jersey printed by Bradford, all quite rare (several exceedingly so), ending with "Kinsey's Laws," those compiled and edited by John Kinsey, speaker of the New Jersey Assembly. This work is generally considered the FIRST OFFICIAL COMPILATION OF NEW JERSEY LAWS, and Felcone indicates that the Act specifically stated that "as only a small number is ordered for the use of the said Province, those private gentlemen who are willing to have and subscribe for the same" should contact the booksellers as the Bradfords were "designing to print no more than what are subscribed and agreed for." Two issues of this last work exist, one collating as ours, another with the addition of chapter CXXII (see ESTC).
